Craig Kelly

Photograph of British actor Craig Kelly in the street. British actor Craig came to fame through playing Vince Tyler in the radical gay TV drama on Channel 4, Queer as Folk at the end of the 90s. Since then he has been invovled in many productions and is more recently best known for playing Underworld factory boss Luke Strong in ITV soap opera Coronation Street alongside friend Antony Cotton.

Did you know that his brother is Dean Lennox Kelly from TV series Shameless? Also, that he actually had a minor speaking role as a wireless operator in Titanic.

Craig has had small roles in a number of TV series including 3 Blind Mice, Clocking Off, Having It Off, Silent Cry, Silent Witness, Hotel Babylon, Daziel and Pascoe and starred in a few episodes of Totally Frank, Channel 4's comedy drama about a real life band. Right now you can catch him narrating on Shipwrecked.

Nudity Review - Craig Kelly Skin on Screen

We loved Craig as Vince Tyler in the original UK version of Queer as Folk, we did, but he never took his clothes off. Not like the American actor Gale Harold did in the US QAF. After this series he was fairly famous so I was surprised to see he felt the need to get naked on TV (so often a fame boost). But he did; in the film Oh Marbella! Kelly did a full frontal nudity scene where he gets undressed and joins others in a spa. It isn't easy to catch his dick as the moment passes quickly. Luckily I have the freeze-frame caps right here.

Craig Kelly Quotes:

"He just walks into the factory and tells Tony that he's been hired by Carla to take over management of her share of the company. Bosh. It's a great entrance and I think it's quite a statement about the character from the off" (On how his character Luke joins the series. Interview Feb 2009 by Digital Spy)

"It was hilarious and I think we all really enjoyed filming a show like that - it's hard not to enjoy being part of something like as Queer as Folk!"

"It was the role really. It's a very appealing role, and when it came to it, I just couldn't turn it down. I know it's a massive show, and that brings its own pressures, but I thought if I don't do it, I'll regret it, so I just dived in. " (About joining Corrie. From Tiscali's 5 minutes with... Craig Kelly)

"Yes, I watched Coronation Street when I was a kid, and I've seen it all my life really, so to be involved in it is strange. I'm not quite used to it yet. When I was first in the green room, it was hard not to call people by their character names, so I just didn't call them anything. There were so many familiar faces in such a small room, it was surreal." (About the Rovers. From Tiscali's 5 minutes with... Craig Kelly)

Latest News on Craig Kelly

Craig will continue to play Luke in Coronation Street for the forseable future. Look forward to seeing him in Easter Sixteen, a drama about the 1916 Irish Easter Uprising. However, I am not sure they are even starting to film until June 2009 (see source at IMDB). Anyway when it does arrive at our screens, Craig wil play Private Hawkins (so I presume an English soldier) so no sexy Irish accent attempts from the cute lad. Nice to see Guy Pearce returning to our screens in it (rumour).
