James Franco has his fingers in every pie; directing, writing, producing doing arty things and of course acting (which he started doing in the late '90s. The Golden Globe he picked up was actually only for a made-for-TV movie about the life of James Dean. HOwever, it turned out to be a great success, thanks to his acting talent. He is probably more famous now for his role as Harry Osborn in the modern Spider-Man movies. Who remembers James in Never Been Kissed? Did you know his nickname was Ted (or Teddy)? Not the tallest of guys, Franco gives of a certain sexual vibe that is propelled by his trade mark one-sided smile.

According to the information about James' relationships, his love life is complicated. Since 2000 the list has included Marla Sokoloff, Ashley Hartman, Ahna O'reilly, Sienna Miller, Ryan Parker and Tiffany Limos. It's a shame he didn't get it on with Marley Shelton, they looked good together in Never Been Kissed.

Jame's brother Dave Franco is an actor but I'm not sure about the other one, Tom. It is good to here that just recently he graduated from UCLA in English Literature having continued to study between films over all these years.

I have to admit to getting tired of seeing James' naked rear. You get his butt three times in the 2002 movie Sonny but the movie is annoying. Obviously James Dean is an excellent movie and a beter place to catch him nude on the beach from behind. Franco shows little sign of shying away from on screen nudity. Although not strictly or even cloely aligned with the concept of full frontals, Whatever It Takes is another opportunity to see Franco in his younger days. Forget James' complex love life. There is just one thiing to talk a bout. The movie Milk coming to a cinema near you towards the end of 2008 and through to early 2009. Franco plays Scott Smith, the love interest of gay politician Harvey Milk (played by Sean Penn). He and Diego Luna get to kiss Sean Penn (and I mean snog!) . BUt the best bit is that James will be completely naked in a number of scenes with Penn. He has also started some rumor about wearing a prosthetic penis, which should be interesting.

Coming in 2010, James plays Allen Ginsberg in an Epstein/Friedman drama Howl with Paul Rudd and Alessandro Nivola. I presume it is a biography of the American poet Irwin Allen Ginsberg who is best known for his poem 'Howl' that he wrote in 1956 to attack materialism and conformity.
