Born Joshua Lee Holloway in California he moved with his family to Georgia while very young. He was actually a successful male fashion model before getting into acting. He has one sister and three brothers and is close to his extended family. Although he has tried to lose his Southern accent, he had to use it for his role as Sawyer in the television show Lost. He has a number of interests including sailing, snow boarding and martial arts. Since his wife Yessica and himself were robbed at gunpoint in 2005 he has taken to supporting self-defense projects for teenagers.

Living in Los Angeles most of Josh's time is understandably taken up with his acting in Lost. However, he has found time to appear in shows such as NCIS and CSI.

In March 2007 Holloway was selected to be the new face for Davidoff's Cool Water fragrance worldwide. Look out for Holloway as Max Truemont in Whisper 2007.

Finally it looks like Holoway is doing something new. According to the Internet Movie Database Josh has a role in a movie alongside the cute and ry-in-demand hobbit Sean Astin a comedy called Stay Cool due for release in 2009. Fingers crossed, they move have nude scenes.
