Brooklyn-born American actor Kirk Acevedo is actually of Chinese and Puerto Ricon descent and is best known for playing Miguel Alvarez in HBO's prison drama Oz. You will probably also remember him as D.A. Investigator Hector Salazar in Law & Order: Trial by Jury. Kirk auditioned for Oz because many of his fellow graduating students from SUNY Purchase School of Acting had got parts in it. His character Miguel was ratehr crazy drug-fueled manic character. Kirk was also pretty good in Spielberg's Band of Brothers with ginger cutie Damian Lewis. He continued to be shelved slightly in the military-come-law-enforcement roles, starring in NYPD Blue, Numb3rs, Cold Case and 24. Then added a splash of manly acting for movies (without nude scenes) in Invincible (2006), Boiler Room (2000) and Kirk and Kerry (1997).

On that military theme again, Acevedo was also in Terrence Malick's The Thing Red Line with Adrien Brody and Matt Doran, where he won an ALMA Award. He has also received a nomination for his acting in Tooth of Crime.

Perhaps Kirk's biggest break was as the young and crazy gang leader Miguel Alvarez in Tom Fontana's prison drama for HBO that ran from 1997 to 2003. It was packed with awesome gay sex scenes and male nudity, including full frontal shower shots with the likes of Harold Perrineau, Lee Tergesen, Dean Winters, Eamonn Walker and Christopher Meloni epxosing themselves. Acevedo was nude on two occasions; once when he was in a cell with no clothes on lying on the floor and then you see his bare butt as he gets dressed; and then again when he is stripped in the shower and we are treated to a full frontal and clear shot of his cock.

I don’t watch any TV at all, and the second show that I really watched was Lost, so it was my opportunity to be a part of a show that I would want to watch on TV. That was pretty much the reason."
