Matthew Rhys is a Welsh actor best known for playing gay lawyer Kevin Walker in the ABC hit TV drama Brothers & Sisters who has made it big in America (probably though the pilot season).

Born in Cardiff, he was actually educated in Welsh and following a well-received performance as Elvis in a school play Matthew decided to attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London alongside a huge alumni of great actors. Even while studying at RADA Rhys was busy seeking roles, appearing as PC Steve 'Hiccup' Higson in in 1997 BBC police drama Backup.

In 1998 Rhys travelled to New Zealand for a part in highly rated television drama Greenstone, which then led to him securing the part of Demetrius in Julie Taymor's Shakespeare adaption, Titus, which also starred Anthony Hopkins. He followed this with the comedy film: Whatever Happened to Harold Smith. Time passed and some actors would probably be concerned that their career was fading. But in 2000 Rhys landed the lead part in Metropolis (a UK Granada TV drama). I won't bore everyone with a complete filmography.

I was sad to see gay idol of Sex and the City fame Jason Lewis leave the show after playing Matthew's love-interest Chad Barry for eight episodes (see picture below). Kevin Walker really does get all the men afer him - in one episode ex- Dante's Cove (the gay soap packed with naked male bodies) actor Adrian Quinonezplayed a character who flirted with him.

I have heard Matthew may be dating his co-star from The Edge of Love, Keira Knightley, whom he must have seen in the nude (where he played the great Welsh poet Dylan Thomas), anyone know if this is true? He should have made a move on the gorgeous Hayden Christensen when he starred opposite him in Virgin Territory - the film was awful but the men were hot. That was the first time i set eyes on Bones actor Ryan Cartwright. Did you know, Matthew is so proud to be Welsh, he would give all the Hollywood fame up for a chance to play rugby (the National game) for his country, Wales.

I think Mathew may have got caught up in the classic: I'm not famous yet so I have to get naked for my roles trap. If you visit your video store and rent out Julia Taymor's film adaption of Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, which also stars the sexy Israeli actor Raz Degan alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Harry Lennix, Angus Macfadyen aka Braveheart's Robert the Bruce, Kenny Doughty, and Blake Ritson of RocknRolla fame - quite the hunky cast to a movie that had Rhys stripping naked, mooning his bare butt and receiving a blowjob in the pool from a nude girl in an orgy scene. At one point Jonathan jumps on Matthew in a very homoerotic moment. There's also a murky full frontal in the 2000 movie Sorted. You can also catch his bare bum twice in the TV drama Metropolis I mentioned earlier.

Not alot of news on Matthew at the moment. His gay character is going strong and there is no sign of the show being axed. He does seem to be inolved in an odd looking Welsh Marc Evans road movie set in Wales and Argentina. But that isn't even being shot until 2009. Not that current, but Rhys was made a fellow by Aberystwyth University in July 2008. B&S's Kevin Walker has had his gay marriage with Scotty played by gorgeous Luke Macfarlane, who is an openly gay actor.
