"The newsworthy nude pictures of sexy male celebrities"

Although we have yet to be "shocked" with some male nudity in 2007, the year is still young and if we look back at such trends for exposed actor sex scenes in previous years, we shouldn't be surprised this year. Although we would expect forward thinking from the independent or art-house movie makers, in 2005 Hollywood gave us two flms with nude male celebrities. I guess they realised that it is not just the gay community that will eat up this new exposure - women too are being drawn to cinemas to catch a glimpse of guys in films such as Brokeback Mountain and Transamerican.

In Transamerica, former model and commerical actor Kevin Zegers strips down in quite a few scenes. In one, Kevin lies provocatively in only his briefs/underwear and then later on in the film regularly exposes his butt. In the skinny-dipping scene he does with a hitchhiker (played by Grant Monohon who also does full frontal nudity), Keven Zegers is most definately, completely naked and can clearly see his teenage chubby circumcised cock. The character he plays is meant to be 17 years old, yet he is majorly sexualised throughout the whole movie. Risque stuff! In Brokeback Mountain Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal strip stark naked when they jump off a cliff. We also see Jake's ass when Ledger rips off his pants during a sex scene in the movie. In 2005 they were the latest in a growing list of mainstream and hollywood male celebrities 'letting it all hang out' for their art. A year before, actor Peter Sarsgaard, totally nude, seduces the character played by Liam Neeson in the movie Kinsey.

There does seem to be a trend that male nudity in movies tends to happen when the characters are either gay or bisexual, and this seems apparent considering the three movies mentioned above. It is like they are being sexualised in the same way women are in on screen. Indeed, most male nudity tended to be for laughs in older films such as the 1980s Porky's, mocking the penis with what tended to be blury photography from a distance. But more recently, we have been seeing close-ups of the penis in full fronal nudity. In the 2003 movie The Dreamers, actor Michael Pitt (of Dawson's Creek fame) bared everything to the audience with co-star Louis Garrel (also nude in Ma mère). One scene in particular sees Michael being held down by Loius Garrel while Eva Green pulls his underwear down as the camera zooms in to give the audience a long and close look at this cock and balls for superb vidcap opportunity. Pitt is also seen in an explicit sex scene showing us his butt and full frontal nude bath scenes. Although Pitt didn't show much skin (bar some shirtless shots) in his previous 2001 film Bully, his co-stars did share some skin! Nick Stahl exposed his ass AND his penis in and Brad Renfro bared his backside in that film and also much earlier in the movie Apt Pupil. There is also full frontal nudity from hot looking guy (of Disturbing Behaviour) Eric Stahl where he is holding a towel in front of himself and spit in the mirror. As he moves backwards the towel moves to the side and there is his tool aka meat and two veg!

It is, however, still the independent movies taking the most significant steps towards male nudity in the cinema. Both Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna were regularly naked in the 2001 film Y tu mama tambien. The explicit sex scenes and frontal nude shots of these guys shocked many. Especially these scene when Luna and Bernal masturbate next to the pool, swim naked, shower together and have sex with both each other and a variety of women.
