We know loads more about MGM's new Fame movie now, so it's time to run a feature and find out some more about its hot young male cast of Paul McGill, Walter Perez, Paul Iacono, Collins Pennie and Asher Brook, all directed by relatively inexperienced Kevin Tancharoen. I am going to be trawling through old and newly discovered archives in the hope of finding nude pictures and any other material hot off the press as the movie's release approaches.

Briefly, for those from another world, Fame will be a remake of the original Alan Parker musical film of the same title in 1980, which then led to a successful TV series in 1982, which proved popular with the gay community. Expect the brand spanking new version in September 2009, still set around young actors in New York City.

I have a feeling that the new Fame is going to be a big box office success with the public showing a neagrness for recent musical efforts such as High School Musical and the TV series Rock School.

Paul McGill will be playing one of the lead roles as Kevin, a gay student. Not complete unknown, McGill actually played the 'younger Philippe Petit' in the Oscar-winning documentary Man On Wire. Paul has done a lot of stage work until now, so it is possible that there could be some pics of him nude in one or two roles. Most recently Paul was in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line and before that he was Ren in Footloose. Apparently he is very good friends with Fame co-star Paul Iacono in real life. No harm to the other cast members, but Paul is by far the hottest and we had to feature him first. Photos sourced from Paul's MySpace site. Paul Iacono looks like he has started calling himself the more memorable Paul Icon; I guess we wait and see what the final cut of Fame credits him as. Perhaps already more well known than the other McGill, he considers himself both an actor and a playwright. Acting since childhood where he started out impersonating Frank Sinatra, performing at New York cabaret lounge Don't Tell Mama. Since then Iacono has been quite active on TV compared to McGill, appearing nine times on The Rosie O'Donnell Show from 1997 until 2002. I first cam e across him in an AfterElton.com gay romance favorite, As the World Turns.

Perhaps Paul has concentrated more on the theater, with big parts in The Wizard of Oz, Children of Eden, Mame and Sail Away. Let's hope we get some nudity in the future and get so to see how big his penis err.. 'parts' really are :p.

Iacono is actually a graduate of New York's High School of Performing Arts, on which the Fame show is based. In Fame Paul will be playing Neil Baczynsky a wannabe film maker. Check him out also in Ron Brown's Consent this year with uber-gorgeous talents Noah Fleis and Peter Vack.

Walter Perez is a Californian actor brought up just round the corner from Hollywood who has had his sights set on stardom from an early age. From a poor background he was prevented from entering the industry until he came across Colors United (a peforming arts group for inner-city students). Walter moved on to college but continued to seek work as an actor, doing a few commercials and guest appearances on prime time television, such as CSUI: Miami, Free Radio, The Closer and cult Judging Amy. As perhaps the most experienced on the Fame set, Perez has also appeared in movies, including HBO's Walkout and August Evening.

Asher Book also has his own MySpace with lots of photos; these young actors know how to pull in a fan base. Put some nude ones online and I'm all yours Asher :-> Brooklyn actor Collins Pennie, nicknamed Hollywood, has made quite a few guest appearances in television already, including CSI: Miami and Law & Order. He is also another to be in the big gay day time favourite As the World Turns (as Sean).

Having escaped a possible life on the streets, Collins has used his talents to get far for a young man. It wasn't long before he caught the eye of the massive agency Ford Model Management. This quickly led to the Calvin Klein One perfume advertisement.

Now a film veteran, Pennie has even had a role in an Oscar-nominated movie, Half Nelson. Recently (see photo) Collins starred as Ronnie Heflin in Prom Night.

Is this the same Asher Book from V Factory, a gorgeous bunch of guys inculding Wesley Quinn, Nathaniel Flatt, Nicky Teti and Jared Murillo? I know Asher was in Pop Rocks as Liam and his acting was awesome and then he hit us with the song I Want to be your man, which was used in the movies and accompanying soundtrack.

Well in Fame he is the love interest of Jenny (played by Kay Panabaker).

I was reading Book's MySpace and I get the impression he has no idea how big he will be when Fame hits the cinemas yet. Kind of looks like he thinks he will stil be the leader singer in his boy band.
